Nearly $350,000 for Local Nantucket NonProfit Organizations

Last Friday, December 1, The Community Foundation for Nantucket announced just over $345,000 in Nantucket Fund grants to critical nonprofit organizations. CFN’s Nantucket Fund focuses primarily on grants to the social services network in our Nantucket community. Grants go to a variety of programs including summer boost for our incoming kindergarten children who have not had prior experience with preschool to rental assistance for people facing acute financial needs, from Meals on Wheels providing nutritious meals to housebound seniors, to funding for affordable housing units. Nantucket’s year-round community needs our support and CFN is proud to award grants to 28 recipient organizations that are helping address these critical needs.

“The programs supported through the Nantucket Fund tell the story of our ever-changing community, its diverse needs and people, and why the Nantucket Fund is so important. The work nonprofit leaders and the staff do every day supports our community in meaningful and impactful ways”, said Sunny Daily, CFN Executive Director.

The Nantucket Fund is our island’s permanent endowment. Since 2007, the Nantucket Fund has supported community initiatives for affordable housing, behavioral health, education, childcare, elder services, and many more. Thanks to the generosity of our Nantucket Fund supporters, we were able to award more in 2023 than in any previous year.
