The On With The Show cabaret series celebrates the holiday season
with Broadway talent and familiar faces.
Theatre Workshop of Nantucket invites audiences to celebrate Thanksgiving weekend with A Broadway White Christmas, a festive installment of its On With The Show cabaret series. Performances take place Friday, November 27, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, November 29, at 5 p.m.
Featuring Adam Roberts, Alysha Umphress, Farah Alvin, Paul Canaan, and Jacob Yandura, this special holiday cabaret brings together an accomplished company of Broadway performers and artists for an intimate celebration of Broadway hits and seasonal favorites. Whether gathering with family, welcoming friends home, or beginning a favorite holiday tradition, audiences can enjoy the warmth and excitement of live performance over Thanksgiving weekend.
Paul Canaan and Jacob Yandura will be familiar faces to many Nantucket families through TWN’s partnership with Take It From The Top, which connects young island performers with working Broadway professionals for training, mentorship, and creative exploration. Their return offers audiences an opportunity to experience the artistry of two educators who have help inspire the next generation of theatre makers.
Canaan’s extensive Broadway credits include Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde, Miss Saigon, Thoroughly Modern Millie, La Cage aux Folles, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. A co-founder of Take It From The Top alongside Tony Award nominee Laura Bell Bundy, he also co-produced Broadway’s How to Dance in Ohio.
Yandura made his Broadway debut as the composer of How to Dance in Ohio, a musical adaptation of the Peabody Award-winning documentary. His other projects include The Last Queen of Canaan and the Off-Broadway musical Wringer. He is a recipient of the 2024 Human Rights Campaign Visibility Award.

Joining them are three performers whose careers span Broadway, concert stages, and cabaret venues:
Adam Roberts made his Broadway debut in Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark and has appeared on Broadway in Chess, Pippin, and Once Upon a Mattress. His credits also include the national tours of Miss Saigon and Dirty Dancing, as well as Hercules and Gun & Powder at Paper Mill Playhouse.
Alysha Umphress appeared in the original Broadway companies of On the Town, American Idiot, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, and Bring It On!. A Chita Rivera Award winner for Smokey Joe’s Café, she has performed with symphonies throughout the United States and Europe, including appearances at La Scala and with the London Symphony Orchestra.

Farah Alvin has appeared on Broadway in Nine, Grease!, Saturday Night Fever, The Look of Love, and It Shoulda Been You, as well as the holiday productions A Christmas Carol and Ruben and Clay’s Christmas Spectacular. She earned a Drama Desk nomination for her performance in The Marvelous Wonderettes and is a familiar presence on New York’s concert and cabaret stages.
As TWN continues its 70th-anniversary year, A Broadway White Christmas offers another occasion to gather, celebrate, and share the joy of live theatre on Nantucket.
