Nantucket’s Maria Mitchell Association announces their partnership with Travel Sommelier (TS), an award-winning boutique luxury travel company. Together, they will guide adventurers across the globe for rare naturalist experiences in 2025, 2026, and 2027. The travel offerings are built around a shared interest in the sciences of Astronomy and Ornithology – backbones of the educational and scientific programs at the Maria Mitchell Association (MMA).
Bird lovers can join the Maria Mitchell Association, Field Ornithologist Ginger Andrews, and the Travel Sommelier team on Saturday, September 20 for a one-of-a-kind morning of birding in New York City’s Central Park. The day will start early with Ginger sharing expert tips on spotting and identifying species. Then participants will head to the American Museum of Natural History for a quick tour before enjoying brunch at The Restaurant at Gilder, featuring a lively talk with African bird expert James Currie. August of 2026 brings a choice of two trips to Spain to witness a total eclipse in near-perfect darkness as it passes over northern Spain.
