The Nantucket Maria Mitchell Association and Nantucket Community School have brought their annual Science Festival into your home!
Their planned festival was canceled due to the pandemic, but they still want to share the fun and learning of science with island children. To participate, choose your favorite science activities (suggestions here). While you are doing the activity, take a photo and post it on FaceBook. Include the names of those participating, the activity you are doing, #AckSciFest and type @The Maria Mitchell Association and @Nantucket Community School to select and tag both organizations.
Participate and post between 10 am and 2 pm this Saturday, March 21, and you will be entered to win a prize donated by one of our many community supporters.
Complete at least six activities from the list here by Sunday, March 22 at 5 pm and be entered to win a grand prize package.
All winners will be announced on Monday, March 23 on the Science Festival webpage and on our FaceBook pages. Winners will also be contacted directly to arrange individual pick up times for prizes in order to maintain social distancing. Prizes must be picked up from the Maria Mitchell Association within one week of the event. They will not be mailed.
