Nantucket Whaling Museum to Reopen February 12, 2021

The Nantucket Historical Association (NHA) will reopen the Whaling Museum on Friday, February 12, with free admission for our year-round island community.

Robust sanitizing measures to make the indoor experience safe will continue. Visitors can help by reserving a timed slot online.

The Festival of Trees remains on display through the President’s Day holiday weekend for visitors to enjoy the festive winter wonderland.

In partnership with the Nantucket Atheneum, a family-friendly scavenger hunt will launch on reopening weekend in celebration of its important donation to the NHA collection. Families can search for many of the historic artifacts, natural history specimens, and ethnographic objects from around the world on display during their visit to the Whaling Museum.

The museum will be open for the entirety of the holiday weekend (Friday, February 12 through Monday, February 15), 10am–4pm. The museum will then remain open Monday–Saturday (closed Sundays), 10am–4pm throughout the winter season.

For more information on how to plan your visit to the Whaling Museum, visit NHA.org or call 508- 228-1894.
