ASK NANTUCKET: Can my Nantucket Cottage Hospital brick be mailed?

Our ASK NANTUCKET column tries to answer your specific questions about Nantucket Island, vacationing here, and island life.  If we cannot answer your question, we reach out to island experts.  Here is the most recent question a reader has submitted:

Hi there, my son Chase Starbucks L. was born at the NCH in 2012. I live in Charleston, SC and would like to have the brick. Can you mail the brick to me if I pay for shipping etc. can I pick it up when I am on-island in the summer. Please let me know what my options are?

Our staff asked Jason Graziadei, public information officer at Nantucket Cottage Hospital, to answer Jenny’s question:

We have the brick but unfortunately the hospital cannot ship them.

We will still have the bricks available to pick up in the summer if you want to wait until then.

If not, perhaps there is someone you trust who is able to pick the brick up for you and ship it? If that’s the case, just let us know their name and we’ll have it ready for them.
